About Day of Music

Celebrate talent and artistry in our community.

In 2019, as part of our centennial celebrations, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra hosted a free Day of Music in downtown Vancouver. More than 100 ensembles and musicians joined together with over 14,000 audience members for a celebration of music. For well-known reasons our planned Day of Music 2020 was cancelled.

But now, with a year of livestreams and digital performances under our belts, British Columbia’s music community is ready to come together for Day of Music 2021, taking place virtually at 2021.dayofmusic.ca.

On May 15th, 2021, we celebrate music and inspire the people of BC with the incredible array of talent and artistry in our community. 2021.dayofmusic.ca as a hub of freely available performances, from across the province, for the whole world to watch. Following May 15th, the Hub will stay live in an archived format as a record of the creativity and ingenuity of our music sector.
