WVYB Symphonic Strings is comprised of youth from all over the North Shore. The musicians are bound by the unique atmosphere of music making in a string orchestra. WVYB is a community organization dedicated to service. The Symphonic Strings plays many concerts throughout the season including a “Lift” concert to raise funds for local charities, as well as many showcase concerts, including their annual concert at the West Vancouver Library. The are also Gold Prize winners at the Con Brio Festival. The young musicians in the ensemble are passionate and skilled. The age range is from 11-19 years old. The ensemble meets once a week in West Vancouver. Many of the musicians have come up through the Debut and Concert Strings programs designed to give young musicians the skills to play in a high functioning ensemble like the Symphonic Strings.
