Sarah Rose is a teaching artist and director working in music and theatre. With teaching certifications in piano and voice from the Royal Conservatory of Music and the Institute for Vocal Advancement, Sarah has taught at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, Staccato Music Studios, and now maintains a vibrant private practice. Sarah believes strongly in community engagement, and gives her time as a coach and director with organizations including Girls Rock Camp Vancouver and UBC V-Day.

As a classical pianist, Sarah performs regularly in masterclasses with leading concert artists and pedagogues, including Sergei Saratovsky and Madeline Bruser. Most recently, Sarah participated in the VSO School of Music’s International Master Teacher program where she received private coaching and performed in a masterclass with Jane Coop. Sarah is deeply committed to her ongoing professional development, and is currently preparing advanced diplomas in piano performance and pedagogy. She studies with Drs. Daniel Mahlberg and Carla Dodek.

As a theatre director and voice coach, Sarah has worked with companies including Studio 16 (AOS), GO Studios, Pacific Theatre (Stone’s Throw), Brave New Play Rites, and the Vancouver Fringe. Sarah is currently directing FALL RISK by Nicole Kohr, a new musical comedy in development with support from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Sarah holds a certificate in Advanced Directing from the National Theater Institute, where she received the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center Scholarship, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia.
