Inspired by Harry Partch’s Cloud Gongs we built a wooden frame to house 35 pieces of glass. We cut, shaped, and sanded the glass to bring out it’s unique tonal character. Sandwaves was inspired by compositional structures of Gamelan music.

240 Northern has been an active member of the experimental and creative music scene, promoting, showcasing, and developing the artistic voices of Vancouver musicians. The collective has hosted performances, workshops, masterclasses, intensive studies, and provided rehearsal space for various musical genres ranging from Pop – Classical – Jazz – World Musics.
